These words describe too many young women living in the Washington Metropolitan area. HIV is a PREVENTABLE disease and YOU have the power to protect yourself from becoming infected. In the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, young heterosexual women are the fastest growing population of newly diagnosed HIV cases. As young women, we have a RESPONSIBILITY to educate ourselves, our mothers, sisters, friends, daughters, partners, and significant others on how we can PROTECT ourselves from HIV infection. We are asking young women and girls, ages 13-29, to join Divas, MPH as we EDUCATE, EMPOWER, and MOBILIZE to Save Our Sisters from HIV/AIDS.
